You will understand when you are older, that you will do anything to protect the people that you love&#8230;especially your children. And Mommy thought that by leaving certain things off of this blog, I was protecting you both. The truth of the matter is, you have both been in therapy for the past 6 months to help with some &#8220;delays&#8221;. I hate that word&#8230;&#8221;delays&#8221;. It implies that everyone should be doing the same thing at the same time and that is simply not the way people or life works. I didn&#8217;t want to write about it because I don&#8217;t ever want either of you to believe that you are somehow &#8220;behind&#8221; or ever believe that you are not capable of anything you put your mind to. </p> <p>Daddy made me realize that by not writing about it, we are missing an important part of your lives. And more critically, we are missing the opportunity of showing you both just how bright, resilient, smart, funny and capable you are. Life is full of opportunities to overcome challenges. And you are already overcoming your challenges by working hard. That Daddy of yours is a very smart guy! </p> <p>So expect to hear (read) more about all of the progress you are both making!! And I will do my best to fill you in on everything you&#8217;ve missed hearing about over the past 8 months. And I&#8217;ll try not to bore you two with all of the mushy details, like how much Daddy and I love you, like how very proud we are to be your parents, like how you make everyday special just because we get to spend it with you! </p> <p>I&#8217;ll end this post with this fun tid-bit. One of the things you both have therapy for is speech, since you&#8217;re not talking a whole lot&#8230; YET&#8230; But Owen, you have said about 10 new words in just one week!! You&#8217;ve said bippo (hippo), dide (outside), wawa (wall), ba bye, two (when you&#8217;re counting) and more&#8230; And Grant, you&#8217;ve said some new words this week too and you are saying &#8220;yeah&#8221; when you nod your head for yes! I LOVE my new stroller which is so easy to push; and more importantly, it’s easy to navigate with one hand so I can grab an escapee if I need to! Grant and Owen did a great job walking on the trails with us… Not so great when it was time to go home. We’ll keep working on that part. </p> <p>I wanted to share this picture because this is how happy both of them looked the whole time.
